The Nahanni River and my journey down it

Back in 2003, I was lucky enough to live one of my dreams. I went to the Arctic and canoed down the Nahanni River. As an avid photographer, this journey was a delight because every second was a great shot waiting to happen. Thankfully, I had more than enough rolls of film. This trip was a physical journey and a spiritual journey and in a small way I was able to capture that in my journals.

After four years of introspection and much encouragement, I have at last published a book detailing those journeys and revealing some of those majestic shots that just seemed to creep up every kilometer of the Nahanni River. I hope you enjoy the book and see, at least in part, something of the magic I witnessed.

The name of the book is "A Nahanni Journey" and it was released by Golden Acorn Press this month.

From the publisher, "Many men dream of adventure, but few men pursue it. Since he was a little boy, noted photographer, Ron Schlie, dreamed of exploring the wild frontiers of the Arctic. This is his story, his journey, his adventure down the Nahanni River. Filled with breathtaking images, unique vision and personal insight, this is one adventure you don't want to miss."

If you would like to purchase a copy, it can be found here.

I hope you enjoy it.
